KHUZESTAN, IRAN — Official state media reported on Sunday that Shahid Qasem Soleimani International Airport in southwestern Iran was targeted in a significant aerial attack.
According to the official IRNA news agency, the deputy governor of Khuzestan province, Valiollah Hayati, confirmed the strike. "The Shahid (Qasem) Soleimani international airport was hit in an airstrike carried out by US and Zionist forces," Hayati stated.
The airport, located in a strategic region of Iran, serves as a major transport hub. While reports of the strike are circulating via state-affiliated outlets, officials are currently assessing the extent of the damage. There has been no immediate comment from US or Israeli military officials regarding the operation.
